Roleplaying Regulations

Post  Duststorm on Sun Aug 24, 2008 6:08 pm

These simple roleplaying regulations have been written down by Duststorm for all users to respect while posting messages while in-character; they are expected to be obeyed, unless the user wishes for his post to be deleted. Please do not copy these rules, as I have typed them up for LotF's use only.

1. Remember your character's traits. Do not say your cat has dark brown fur if on his biography it says he has white fur; do not say he is fearless and proud if he is shy and quiet.

2. Though you may have an unlimited amount of characters, you must be able to control them all. We will be having character activity checks every so often, so try to post in them, as it may help you handle the activity of your characters.

3. Be realistic with time and places. If you are on patrol in one thread, you cannot be in a battle in another.

4. Try to keep the threads going, so your character can participate in many things; try not to make a thread last more than a week. This is mainly because if your character has been on a patrol thread and that thread has lasted quite a bit, a Gathering may come and your character cannot participate - even though it is totally different timezones. Therefore, we try to make it as realistic as we can; but because of the difficulty that provides, we will make exceptions.

5. Love at first sight hardly exists. Build up the relationship; try to make it at least four threads together before the two cats become mates.

6. No powerplaying; it is unfair to the other roleplayer. Powerplaying is when you control other characters that are not yours.

7. No god-modding; it is unrealistic and unfair to the other roleplayer. Discuss deaths and harsh wounds through private messages or any other form of contact, such as instant message or the chatbox at the bottom of the page. God-modding is when a character is an "un-defeatable" fighter and / or gives the other cat bad wounds or even kills him without the proper permission of the character's owner.
